Horsepacking

Travelling and camping with pack horses can be a transcendent experience; there is nothing more authentic and gritty.

It is not just the saddle that is hard, horses can be mentally and physically demanding. Prepare to learn ropework and wrangling skills along the way. We cook over the fire if possible and pitch a tent under the stars. Wrangling the horses can require hours of hiking. Do not bring cowboy boots.

Horse expeditions are available from June to July and can vary from three to ten days of saddle time.
